Trainers in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet have a new challenge beginning today, February 20, 2026, as Sceptile with the Mightiest Mark returns for 7-Star Tera Raid Battles. The event runs until February 26, 2026, at 23:59 UTC, according to a statement released by The Pokémon Company.
This iteration of Sceptile will feature a Dragon Tera Type, presenting a unique strategic challenge for players. The Pokémon is described as a “formidable foe” and is marked with the Mightiest Mark, signifying its increased difficulty. Players are encouraged to collaborate with friends to overcome this powerful opponent.
To participate, players must either have completed the postgame content following the main story of Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet, or join a raid hosted by a Trainer who has. Accessing the latest Poké Portal News is also required; players can find this through the X menu, selecting Mystery Gift, and then checking for updates.
While Sceptile can only be caught once per save data, players can continue to participate in Tera Raid Battles against it after capture to earn rewards. These rewards include Exp. Candy for Pokémon leveling, treasures for sale at Pokémon Centers, items to improve Pokémon stats, and Dragon Tera Shards, which can be used to alter a Pokémon’s Tera Type.
Coinciding with the in-game event, The Pokémon Center is offering a Sceptile Sitting Cuties Plush for purchase.
