Jacques Kruyswijk secured victory at the 2025 Magical Kenya Open, finishing with a total score of 266, 18 under par, at Muthaiga Golf Club. The tournament, a DP World Tour event, concluded on Sunday, marking the end of a competition that saw 156 players vying for the title.

The 2026 edition of the Magical Kenya Open is currently underway, being hosted at the Karen Country Club. This marks a return to Karen Country Club, which previously hosted the event from 2004 to 2008, 2013 to 2016 and in 2019 and 2021. Muthaiga Country Club has also been a frequent host, having held the tournament in 1967, and from 1969 to 2002, 2009 to 2012, 2017 to 2018, and 2022 to 2023.

The Magical Kenya Open has a rich history, originating in 1967 and becoming a DP World Tour event in 2019. It’s considered a significant event on the DP World Tour’s schedule, marking the start of the tour’s swing through Africa. Maurice Bembridge remains the only three-time winner of the tournament, having won in 1967, 1969, and 1979.

The tournament’s sponsorship history reflects a series of changes over the years. From 1967 to 1978, and again from 1993 to 1996, and in 2004 and 2010, it was known as the Kenya Open. Benson and Hedges sponsored the event from 1979 to 1983, followed by 555 from 1984 to 1990. Standard Chartered sponsored the tournament from 1991 to 1992, Lonrho in 1997, and Tusker from 1998 to 2001 and again from 2005 to 2009. Sameer sponsored the event in 2002, Barclays from 2011 to 2018, and currently, it is sponsored as the Magical Kenya Open, beginning in 2019.

The field of 156 players is comprised of the top-ranked DP World Tour players based on their priority ranking. The tournament is played over four days, with a cut determining which players advance to the final rounds. The winner is determined by the lowest total score after 72 holes.

Past champions include Justin Harding, who set the tournament record with a score of 263, 21 under par, in 2021. Other recent winners include Jorge Campillo (2023), Darius van Driel (2024), and Wu Ashun (2022). Guido Migliozzi won the tournament in 2019, while Lorenzo Gagli took the title in 2018.
