WWE veteran The Miz has publicly lauded Logan Paul’s rapid ascent in professional wrestling, acknowledging the younger star’s surprising talent and even conceding that Paul is effectively utilizing his established wrestling persona. Miz made the comments during an appearance on The Undertaker’s “Six Feet Under” podcast, as reported by Wrestling Inc. On February 18, 2026.
The Miz, whose real name is Mike Mizanin, recounted his experience training Paul, noting the social media personality’s unusually quick grasp of the complexities of WWE. “I remember training Logan, and as much as Bad Bunny trained, Logan trained as well, but Logan was the fastest I’ve ever seen anyone pick up WWE in my life,” Miz said. He further expressed astonishment at Paul’s current skill level and potential, stating, “It still blows my mind how good he is and how good he can be.”
A key observation from Miz was that Paul is, in effect, adopting a similar character to his own. “I do perceive he’s the future of this business, and I understand – the funny part is he’s doing my gimmick,” Miz stated. He drew parallels between their respective entrances into the wrestling world, noting that both began as outsiders – Miz through reality television, and Paul through the internet.
Miz revealed a conversation he had with Paul shortly after the latter’s WWE debut, during which Paul expressed reluctance to play a villainous “heel” role. Miz advised Paul that audience reaction would likely dictate his alignment, a prediction that proved accurate. Their dynamic was initially showcased in a tag team match at WrestleMania 38 in 2022, followed by a singles match at SummerSlam later that year, as detailed by Wrestlezone.
According to Miz, the SummerSlam match was structured to allow the crowd to determine who would be positioned as the face and heel. Initially, the audience supported Miz, but he anticipated – and witnessed – a shift in allegiance towards Paul as the match progressed. “I was like, ‘This dude is a superior athlete,’” Miz said, adding that Paul also possesses a strong understanding of wrestling psychology.
Miz believes Paul has barely scratched the surface of his potential. “Who I still believe hasn’t touched the surface of how talented he truly is,” Miz told a recent edition of “The Rich Eisen Indicate,” according to EWrestlingNews. He anticipates Paul will continue to thrive in WWE, stating, “Whatever this kid wants to do, he can do, given that he’s that good at it – at everything; all facets of it. And he loves this.”
On February 16, 2024, Paul and Miz faced off in a match with a spot in the Elimination Chamber on the line, as highlighted on a WWE SmackDown YouTube video. The outcome of that match, and any subsequent developments in their rivalry, remain ongoing.
