Beef jerky’s popularity stems from its convenience and high protein content, appealing to a wide range of consumers from outdoor enthusiasts to those seeking a quick, on-the-go snack. The snack is produced by marinating lean cuts of beef and then slowly drying or smoking the meat to remove moisture, a process that preserves it and gives it a characteristic chewy texture and extended shelf life, according to Wisconsin River Meats.

A typical one-ounce serving of beef jerky contains approximately 9 to 12 grams of protein, supporting muscle repair and growth, sustained energy levels, and increased feelings of fullness between meals.
