Joel Kjetselberg has been reinstated as head coach of Rosengård, a Damallsvenskan women’s football club, just four months after his dismissal. The appointment was announced by the club on January 15, 2026, according to a statement on Rosengård’s website.

Kjetselberg was initially fired in September when Rosengård was in eleventh place after 17 rounds of play. The team subsequently avoided relegation, remaining in the Damallsvenskan. His return comes as a surprise given the circumstances of his departure.

“Now we are here and I am very excited for the season,” Kjetselberg stated via the club’s website.

Caroline Seger, Rosengård’s football director, praised Kjetselberg’s abilities, stating, “Joel is a super competent coach. He has a football brain that few coaches possess. He is a very good and much-loved person. I have had him as a coach myself and know what he is capable of.”

The news of Kjetselberg’s return follows a period of instability for the club, though details regarding the specific factors leading to his reinstatement remain undisclosed.

Elsewhere in Swedish football, Alexander Zetterman achieved a placing in a Grand Prix competition less than a month after being kicked in the chest by a horse, demonstrating resilience despite the injury. This incident occurred in St. Tropez in late September 2025.

In political news, a general director was dismissed in December 2025, with reports indicating the government was notified of the decision after an internal procurement process was halted.
