February 16, 2026 – Kojima Productions has confirmed the PC release date for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, with the game launching on March 19, 2026, via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The announcement, made following a showcase during a PlayStation State of Play event, details significant technical enhancements for the PC version developed in collaboration with Nixxes Software.
The PC release will feature support for NVIDIA DLSS, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS upscaling technologies, alongside uncapped framerates. Players with compatible hardware will be able to experience the game with enhanced visual fidelity and performance. Notably, the PC version will also support ultrawide monitors, including 21:9 and a 32:9 “Super Ultrawide” resolution, offering an expanded field of view for both gameplay and cutscenes. The 21:9 support will also be available on the PlayStation 5 version of the game.
Kojima Productions also announced that new modes and features will be simultaneously released for both the PC and PlayStation 5 versions of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. While specific details remain undisclosed, the developers stated these additions will present “new challenges and rewards” for players.
Pre-orders for the PC version are now available, and include a unique in-game hologram of a Quokka, an Australian marsupial. Players can also acquire Battle, Boost, and “Bokka” skeleton types in Platinum and Gold editions.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is set in a post-apocalyptic Australia, eleven months after the events of the first Death Stranding. Players reprise the role of Sam Porter Bridges, portrayed by Norman Reedus, as he attempts to reconnect isolated survivors and colonies to the chiral network. The game also features returning characters Fragile (Léa Seydoux) and Higgs (Troy Baker), alongside new additions to the cast including Elle Fanning, Shioli Kutsuna, and Luca Marinelli. Filmmakers George Miller, Fatih Akin, Guillermo del Toro, and Nicolas Winding Refn also appear in the game, with del Toro and Refn reprising their roles from the first installment.
The game’s narrative centers on the question of human connection and the effort to save humanity from extinction. Players will navigate a world beset by otherworldly creatures and natural disasters, including earthquakes, sandstorms, and forest fires, as well as the recurring threat of Timefall.
