Jaelin Kauf Wins Silver in Olympic Dual Moguls, Team USA Dominates Podium

LIVIGNO, Italy – American freestyle skier Jaelin Kauf secured her second silver medal of the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Games on Saturday, finishing second to Australia’s Jakara Anthony in the inaugural Olympic dual moguls competition. The event, a modern addition to the Olympic program, pitted skiers against each other head-to-head on a mogul course.

Anthony defeated Kauf with a score of 20 to 15 in the final, according to reports from the competition. This marks Kauf’s third Olympic medal all silver. She previously earned a silver in individual moguls at the 2022 Beijing Winter Games and another in the individual event earlier this week at the Milan Cortina Games.

The dual moguls format, first implemented at the Olympics this year, builds upon the traditional moguls event – which has been part of the Winter Olympics since 1992 – by adding a racing element. Competitors navigate a course of moguls and perform jumps, but in this format, skiers race side-by-side, with the faster skier advancing through the bracket.

Adding to the success of the U.S. Team, 20-year-traditional Elizabeth Lemley claimed the bronze medal in the event. Lemley’s performance follows her upset victory over Anthony in the individual moguls final earlier in the week, where she became the first American woman to win Olympic gold in moguls since Hannah Kearney in 2010. This achievement too represented the third gold medal in U.S. Women’s moguls history.

“It’s been a long time coming for this team to stand on top of the podium at the Olympic Games, since Hannah Kearney retired,” Kauf stated following her silver medal win in the individual moguls event on Tuesday. “So it’s really cool to finally get that and to have one, and two.”

Saturday’s results demonstrate a strong showing for the American moguls team, with Kauf and Lemley both reaching the podium. The Australian team also celebrated Anthony’s gold medal, marking another freestyle Olympic gold for the nation.
