Cairo – The Ramadan 2026 drama season is poised to be a highly competitive one, with a diverse lineup of series vying for viewership across the Arab world. The season features a mix of established stars making comebacks, familiar faces taking on new roles, and rising talent aiming to solidify their positions in the industry.
Amir Karara returns to Ramadan television after a year’s absence with “Ras Al Afaa,” a national thriller focusing on the efforts of state security agencies against threats to national stability. The series, written by Hany Sarhan and directed by Mohamed Bekir, also stars Sherif Mounir, Caroline Azmy, and Ahmed Ghazy.
Eyad Nassar will appear in “Sohab Al Ard,” a series set against the backdrop of the war on Gaza. Written by Ammar Sabri and directed by Peter Mimi, the drama features Menna Shalaby, Kamel El-Basha, Adam Bakri, Tara Abboud, and Sara Youssef, and aims to present a human story of love and resilience amidst conflict.
Ahmed Amin is back with a sequel, “El Nos El Tany,” continuing the story he introduced last year. The comedy series, penned by Abdelrahman Gawish and directed by Hossam Ali, features Asmaa Aboul Yazeed, Sedky Sakhr, and Hamza El-Eily.
Yasser Galal ventures into light comedy with “Kolohom Beyhebo Moody,” portraying a wealthy man navigating humorous situations. The series, written by Ayman Salama and directed by Ahmed Shafik, stars Mirvat Amin, Ayten Amer, Mostafa Abu Serei, and Huda El-Etreby.
Karim Mahmoud Abdel Aziz joins the Ramadan lineup with “El Maitre Samir,” a social comedy where he plays a lawyer dealing with the complexities of family court after a divorce. The series is written by Mamdouh Metwally and directed by Khaled Marei.
Mostafa Shaaban will star in “Darsh,” a drama centered on twin brothers, one of whom suffers memory loss after an accident, leading to a journey to reconstruct his past. The series, written by Mahmoud Hegag and directed by Ahmed Khaled Amin, also features Sahar El-Sayegh, Tarek El-Nahry, and Mohamed Ali Rizk.
Amr Saad headlines “Efrag,” portraying a man named Abbas El-Reis whose life is disrupted after being defrauded. He then embarks on a struggle to reclaim his rights and dignity in a working-class neighborhood. The series is written by a team led by Ahmed Halaba and Mohamed Fawzy, directed by Ahmed Khaled Moussa, and co-stars Hatem Salah, Tara Emad, Sama Ibrahim, Abdel Aziz Makhyoun, and Nouran Maged.
Mohamed Adel Imam enters the race with “El King,” playing Hamza, a man unexpectedly pursued by international criminal gangs. The series, written by Mohamed Salah El-Azb and directed by Sherine Adel, co-stars Mirna Gamil and Amr Abdel Galil.
Ahmed El-Awady appears in “Ali Klay,” portraying a boxer grappling with struggles inside and outside the ring. The series is written by Mahmoud Hamdan and directed by Mohamed Abdel Salam, and features Dorra, Tarek El-Dessouky, Yara El-Sokkary, and Mahmoud El-Bazawy.
Youssef El-Sharif returns to Ramadan drama after several years with “Fan Al Harb,” playing Ziad, a man determined to recover his family’s stolen fortune. The series is written by Amr Samir Atef and directed by Mahmoud Abdel Tawab, co-starring Sheri Adel and Reem Mostafa.
Tarek Lotfy competes with “Forsa Akhira,” alongside Mahmoud Hemeida, in a suspenseful and mysterious atmosphere. The series is written by Amin Gamal and directed by Ahmed Adel Salama.
Hamada Helal concludes the “Al-Maddah” saga with “Al-Maddah 6,” the final chapter in the supernatural franchise exploring the world of jinn. Written by Amin Gamal and directed by Ahmed Samir Farag, the cast includes Fathi Abdel Wahab, Heba Magdy, and Yousra El-Lozy.
Mohamed Ragab joins the 2026 season with “Atr Soghantoot,” written by Mohamed Samir Mabrouk and directed by Hany Hamdy, co-starring Ahmed Bedir and Rana Raees.
Veteran actor Ahmed Abdel Aziz returns to leading roles with “El Bakht,” a social drama written and directed by Hossam Moussa.
Several rising stars are also featured this season. Ahmed Malek stars in “Sawa Sawa” alongside Huda El-Mufti, while Essam Omar leads “Ein Sehreya” alongside Bassem Samra. Salma Abu Deif competes with “Aard W Talab,” and Ahmed Bahr – known as Kozbara – appears in “Bibo.” Influencer Ahmed Ramzy headlines “Fakhr El Delta,” marking a crossover from digital platforms to mainstream television.
Maged El-Kedwany enters the Ramadan race with “Kan Ya Makan,” written by Sherine Diab and directed by Karim El-Adl, co-starring Yousra El-Lozy, Arefa Abdel Rasoul, and Noha Abdeen.
Magdy El-Masry takes on his first absolute leading role in Ramadan drama with “Awlad El Raaey,” written by Remon Magar and directed by Mahmoud Kamel.
The United Media Services Company channels will broadcast 16 series during the Ramadan 2026 drama season, each consisting of 15 episodes, encompassing social drama, suspense, human issues, and comedy.
