The Book of Mormon musical is currently playing at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre in New York City, with performances scheduled through July 5, 2026.
Located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, near Times Square, the Eugene O’Neill Theatre has a history dating back to 1925. Originally opened as the Forrest Theatre as part of a hotel and theater complex, it was later known as the Coronet Theatre before being renamed in 1953 to honor the American playwright Eugene O’Neill – the first Broadway theatre to bear a playwright’s name.
The theatre, which has a capacity of 1,108 seats, has also been associated with playwright Neil Simon, who presented seven of his plays there in the late 1960s. The venue offers both orchestra and mezzanine seating, as well as accessible accommodations.
Owned by ATG Entertainment and operated by Jujamcyn Theaters, the Eugene O’Neill Theatre’s auditorium interior is a designated New York City landmark. The building itself occupies a rectangular plot of land at 230 West 49th Street, sharing the block with the Walter Kerr Theatre.
The Book of Mormon, a musical comedy created by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez, and Matt Stone, premiered on Broadway in 2011 after initially being considered for an Off-Broadway run. The Tony Award-winning production is known for its satirical humor and catchy musical numbers.
