SHAREit, a file-sharing and data transfer application developed by Smart Media4U Technology Pte. Ltd., has surpassed 2 billion users globally, according to recent data.
The platform allows users to transfer files, applications, games, videos, photos, music, recordings, and documents across devices without incurring data charges. SHAREit’s speed is reported to be up to 200 times faster than Bluetooth, reaching a maximum transfer rate of 42MB/s. The application is available on both Android and iOS platforms, as well as a web-based version for desktop users.
SHAREit offers a “Phone Clone” feature, enabling users to easily migrate data – including contacts, apps, and media – from an older device to a recent one. Beyond file transfer, the application incorporates a built-in file manager for organizing content on mobile devices, and a fast downloader for directly acquiring videos and photos. An integrated music player is also included.
Security features are a key component of SHAREit, with the company emphasizing its commitment to protecting user privacy and data during file transfers. The platform supports cross-platform transferring and accommodates a wide range of file types, removing limitations on file size.
To facilitate transfers between computers and mobile phones, SHAREit utilizes QR code scanning. The Microsoft Store also lists SHAREit as a tool for managing files on a phone from a computer, and for downloading magnet links and torrent files.
SHAREit also provides a phone cleaner to free up storage space on mobile devices. The app’s features are offered free of charge, supported by advertisements and in-app purchases.
