Animal Adventures Book Club | Van Cortlandt Library Event

The Novel York Public Library’s Van Cortlandt branch will host an Animal Adventures Book Club discussion on Tuesday, February 17th at 3 PM, offering participants a chance to earn double time towards the library’s February Break Reading Challenge.

The book club, designed for school-age children between 6 and 12 years ancient, will focus on exploring the lives and characteristics of various animals, according to library event listings. The Van Cortlandt branch, located near the Jerome Park Reservoir and historic Van Cortlandt Park, regularly hosts programs and workshops for all ages.

The concurrent February Break Reading Challenge encourages children to read for at least 20 minutes each day, adding a snowflake to a collaborative art piece titled “Chill Out with a Brr-illiant Book” for each completed interval. Participants who reach 40 minutes of reading will be eligible for prizes. Joining the Animal Adventures Book Club counts towards both the reading challenge and offers an opportunity to win an additional prize.

The Van Cortlandt branch also maintains collections of books in Russian and Spanish, catering to a diverse community. The library’s programming includes events for young adults and adults, in addition to children’s activities.

Further details about the Animal Adventures Book Club can be found on the New York Public Library event calendar, and the reading challenge continues throughout February Break.
