Monster Hunter Stories 3: Release Date, Gameplay & Demo Details

by Rachel Kim – Technology Editor

The role-playing game Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Fate is scheduled for release on March 13, 2026, Capcom announced. The game, based on the Monster Hunter universe, allows players to become “Riders” who bond with and raise monsters, embarking on adventures with companions.

Monster Hunter Stories 3 distinguishes itself from previous installments by focusing on the societal structure of Riders, rather than their place within the hunter community, according to the game’s director. This shift reflects a growing prominence of Riders and their role within the world. The game is available in standard, deluxe, and premium deluxe editions, offering varying levels of content including additional side stories and special outfits.

The narrative centers on the nations of Azral and Vurilon, described as being on a path to ruin. Players will navigate a story involving the birth of twin dragons and the resulting “twisted fate.” The game allows players to form connections with monsters, a core mechanic of the Monster Hunter Stories series, and explore the world from the perspective of a Rider.

Pre-orders are currently being accepted for digital download versions of the game on platforms including Steam and Nintendo Switch. The Steam version is available in Korean. Capcom has not yet announced any further release dates or platform availability beyond these initial offerings.
