South Korean track and field athlete Kim Min-gee revealed a playful rejection of a future familial connection during a recent interview with ELLE Korea, adding a lighthearted note to post-show reflections on Netflix’s Single’s Inferno season 5.
Min-gee, who left the show with Song Seung-il, discussed the possibility of platonic friendships between men and women, affirming her belief that such relationships can endure. The conversation then turned to Woo Seung-min, another contestant on the show with whom Min-gee as well formed a connection.
According to a translation of the interview, Min-gee jokingly proposed a future double date scenario involving herself and her eventual husband alongside Seung-min and his future wife. “I want to have kids and marry them to his,” she said, referring to Seung-min. However, Seung-min reportedly declined the proposition, stating he did not want his child to marry hers.
The exchange, captured in a clip from the interview, has circulated widely online, with fans noting the continued amicable relationship between Min-gee and Seung-min. A recent photograph posted on social media shows the two athletes posing together with a fan, confirming they have remained in contact since the show’s conclusion. The post, shared on February 10, 2026, indicated the meeting was separate from a previous outing with another cast member, Ye-jin.
Min-gee, who earned the nicknames “Karina of Track and Field” and the “track and field goddess” during her athletic career, transitioned to broadcasting in 2023, appearing on programs like Kick a Goal and Single’s Inferno 5. She currently competes for Hwaseong City Hall, after previously representing Jincheon County Office.
