Mint Oreo Blizzard Returns to Dairy Queen Early for St. Patrick’s Day

by Rachel Kim – Technology Editor

Dairy Queen has launched its seasonal Mint Oreo Blizzard Treat ahead of St. Patrick’s Day, making the popular flavor available to customers starting February 5th, according to a company press release.

The Mint Oreo Blizzard Treat blends vanilla soft serve with Oreo cookie pieces and a “cool mint topping,” Dairy Queen stated. The early release deviates from the traditional availability of the treat coinciding directly with the March 17th St. Patrick’s Day holiday.

Alongside the returning Blizzard flavor, Dairy Queen is too offering a new Mint Crunchin’ Cookie Dipped Cone for the St. Patrick’s Day season, as confirmed by the company’s announcement on February 11, 2026.

The launch of the Mint Oreo Blizzard Treat follows a similar move by McDonald’s, which recently announced the return of its Shamrock Shake and Oreo Shamrock McFlurry. McDonald’s stated its seasonal mint drink would be available for over a month before St. Patrick’s Day at participating locations nationwide.
