SALEM, Ore. – A Salem man was arrested on Sunday, January 26, 2026, following an assault on his girlfriend and the subsequent theft of her vehicle, according to the Salem Police Department. The incident occurred on Saturday,January 25,2026.
Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in Salem. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, a woman whose name has not been released, with visible injuries. She reported that her boyfriend, identified as 32-year-old david Michael Johnson, had physically assaulted her in front of their children.
Following the assault, Johnson allegedly stole the victim’s 2018 Honda CRV, Oregon license plate ABC-123. A statewide alert was issued for the vehicle and johnson.
On Sunday, January 26, 2026, the marion County Sheriff’s Office located the stolen Honda CRV in a parking lot in Silverton, oregon. Johnson was found nearby and taken into custody without incident.
Johnson is currently charged with domestic assault, vehicle theft, and endangering the welfare of a child. he is being held at the Marion County Correctional Facility. Marion County Jail Facts
