Surf Coast Classic Relocated to Torquay Amid Otways Bushfire Warnings

As ⁤riders arrived in​ Victoria,⁤ following their flight from South Australia’s Tour Down Under,organizers announced changes to the expected course for the 1.Pro⁤ women’s and men’s Surf Coast⁤ Classic one-day ⁤races on‌ Wednesday and Thursday. These adjustments are due to bushfire warnings in the Otways,impacting several areas of ‍the original route.

lorne, the originally planned start line, is currently under a Watch and Act warning.Parts of the men’s⁤ course,including Barwon heads and Forrest,were ⁤under immediate evacuation warnings on ⁢Monday afternoon.

Event organizers,running alongside the Mapei Cadel Evans ⁣Great Ocean Road Race, released a statement ​Monday afternoon⁢ stating that both the men’s‍ and⁤ women’s races will now start in torquay.
