As riders arrived in Victoria, following their flight from South Australia’s Tour Down Under,organizers announced changes to the expected course for the 1.Pro women’s and men’s Surf Coast Classic one-day races on Wednesday and Thursday. These adjustments are due to bushfire warnings in the Otways,impacting several areas of the original route.
lorne, the originally planned start line, is currently under a Watch and Act warning.Parts of the men’s course,including Barwon heads and Forrest,were under immediate evacuation warnings on Monday afternoon.
Event organizers,running alongside the Mapei Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race, released a statement Monday afternoon stating that both the men’s and women’s races will now start in torquay.
