Kansas City Shooting: Man Found Dead Wednesday Afternoon

A man was found shot too death Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Linwood adn Broadway boulevards in Kansas city, Missouri. Police responded to the scene at approximately 3:15 PM CST and discovered the victim suffering from gunshot wounds.

According to the Kansas City Police department, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased is currently being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Detectives are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Initial reports indicate a possible shooting, but the exact sequence of events remains under examination. Fox 4 KC reports that police are canvassing the area for witnesses and evidence.

“we are working diligently to piece together what happened and bring those responsible to justice,” stated Sergeant Jake Becchina, a spokesperson for the KCPD, in a press briefing. “Anyone with data is urged to contact the Kansas City Police Department.”

The shooting occurred in a busy area of Kansas city, prompting a meaningful police presence.Broadway Boulevard was temporarily closed between Linwood Boulevard and 31st Street while investigators processed the scene.Traffic has since been reopened.

This is the 18th homicide investigated by the KCPD in 2026, according to data from the Kansas City police DepartmentS crime statistics page.
