Off-Duty ICE Agent Involved in New Year’s Eve Shooting faces Scrutiny Over Past Allegations
Los Angeles, CA – An off-duty U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent, identified as Brian Palacios, shot and killed Keith Porter Jr.on New Year’s Eve in Northridge, California, sparking outrage and calls for clarity. The incident is currently under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Justice System Integrity Division, which handles killings involving law enforcement officers.
According to a sworn declaration submitted by attorney Michelle Diaz in a custody dispute, Palacios is alleged to be the shooter.Court records confirm Palacios is an ICE agent and resides in the apartment complex where the shooting occurred [[1]].
However, Palacios’ attorney, Stacie Halpern, maintains her client acted in self-defense and denies allegations of racist remarks.
