Alain orsoni, a prominent figure in Corsican nationalism, was tragically killed on Monday, January 12th, in the village of Vero, Southern Corsica, during his mother’s funeral. He was 71 years old.

Orsoni’s life was deeply intertwined with the struggle for Corsican autonomy.in the 1980s, he was a leading member of the National Liberation Front of Corsica (FLNC), a militant group advocating for independence. Following his involvement with the FLNC, he founded and led the Movement for Self-Determination (MPA), continuing his pursuit of greater autonomy for the island. Beyond politics, Orsoni also served as president of AC Ajaccio, a local football club, from 2008 to 2015.
Years in Exile and Return to Corsica

He resided in Florida,Nicaragua – where he engaged in the gaming sector – and Spain before returning to his homeland.
