Google Enhances Gmail with AI features: AI Overviews, Help Me Write, and Suggested Replies
Google is rolling out a suite of new AI-powered features to Gmail for all users, including AI Overviews, Help Me Write, and Suggested Replies. These updates aim to make managing and composing emails more efficient and intuitive.
AI overviews: This feature leverages Gemini to provide summarized answers to your Gmail searches. Instead of needing precise keywords, you can use natural language to find information within your email archive. Such as, a search for a plumber quote from last year can return a summary of companies, prices, and even recommendations, with direct links to the original emails.
Help Me Write: Available to all users, this feature assists in drafting new emails or polishing existing ones. It will soon be even more personalized, drawing context from other Google apps.
Suggested Replies: AI-powered suggestions will appear at the bottom of email threads, offering fast replies “in your tone and style.” Users can choose to use these suggestions, edit them, or write their own response.
Additional Update: Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers will receive an upgraded Proofread feature with advanced grammar, tone, and style checks.
These features are beginning to roll out today.
