The Fargo Park District confirmed a cybersecurity incident disrupted operations last month, officials announced Friday, December 5. While the full extent of the breach remains under investigation, the district reports no current interruptions to programs, services, or facility access.
The incident, first detected on October 27, impacted the Park District’s phone, email, and internal systems. According to a district statement, staff immediately worked to secure systems and are collaborating wiht forensic specialists and legal counsel to determine if any personal information was compromised. Individuals potentially affected will be notified and offered support services as required by law, provided the forensic review confirms a data breach.
“We want the community to know we’re taking this very seriously,” said Fargo Parks Executive Director Susan Faus. “We have focused every effort on restoring operations safely and are working with experts to identify the extent of the incident.”
The Park District assures the public that all programs and facilities are currently operating as usual while the investigation continues. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
