Gunther to Face John Cena in Final Match After Last Time Is Now Tournament Victory
AUSTIN, TEXAS - Gunther defeated LA Knight in the finals of the Last Time is Now Tournament on the December 1st episode of WWE Smackdown, earning a match against John Cena in what has been billed as Cena’s final professional wrestling match. The event will take place at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington D.C.
The match between Gunther and Knight was praised for its storytelling and showcasing of both competitors’ styles. Gunther secured the victory with a new submission move, described as an under-grip crossface, and subsequently challenged Cena to submit.
