Victoryland Unveils Hypnotic New Single, “Fits,” Ahead of January Album Release
New York, NY – January 16, 2024 – Victoryland, the solo project of former Blood member Julian McCamman, has released ”Fits,” a sprawling six-minute track offering a glimpse into his forthcoming album, My Heart Is A Room With No Cameras In It. The single follows the previously released “No Cameras” and continues to build anticipation for the album’s january 23rd arrival via Good English Records.
“Fits” instantly captivates with its warm acoustic foundation and subtle percussion, yet quickly introduces a compelling undercurrent of dissonance. The track’s sonic landscape evokes comparisons to influential acts like Yo La Tengo, The Flaming Lips, and Galaxie 500, punctuated by a distinctive crackling noise that adds to its atmospheric texture. McCamman’s vocals, described as “quivering,” deliver a raw emotionality that drives the song’s hypnotic quality.
McCamman himself describes “Fits” as “a dance/trance song about the ultimate search for love in the face all of my childish demands. Debts rarely get paid, why would love be any different?” – a sentiment that hints at the album’s exploration of vulnerability and expectation.
