Machine Learning Engineer – Revolutionizing Communication with Zoom in Karlsruhe, Germany
Zoom is seeking a talented and passionate machine Learning Engineer to join our growing team in Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. This role is pivotal in enhancing Zoom’s machine translation services and integrating cutting-edge AI into our suite of communication products.
As a Machine Learning Engineer,you will be responsible for developing and deploying machine learning models specifically focused on improving real-time translation capabilities. This includes researching and implementing state-of-the-art machine learning methods, Large Language Model (LLM) training, and post-training optimization techniques like preference optimization and reinforcement learning with human feedback. While experience with machine translation and speech translation is a plus, it’s not essential.
the role requires close collaboration with product and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of ML services into Zoom’s products.You will also work with various teams to manage data acquisition,cleaning,and the growth of related tooling.
We are looking for candidates who possess:
* 5+ years of experience (or 2+ years with a Master’s degree, or a Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
* A strong understanding of and practical experience with modern machine learning techniques and LLM development.
* Proficiency in coding with python, C/C++, or Java.
* Hands-on experience developing machine learning models using frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
* Experience working with large-scale text and/or audio data and distributed systems.
* Solid mathematical foundations in machine learning and statistics.
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
nice-to-have skills include:
* Experience building deep learning models in PyTorch.
* experience training and evaluating multilingual or multimodal LLMs.
* Experience optimizing distributed training on GPUs.
* A publication record in leading conferences such as COLM, neurips, ACL, EMNLP, and ICLR.
