‘Married at First Sight’ Couple Splits, Disputes Arise Over Songwriting Credits
Budapest – Zsolt Horváth, a participant in teh Hungarian reality television show Married at First Sight, has confirmed his separation from Rebeka Deák, with the split becoming increasingly public amid disagreements over intellectual property rights related to their collaborative musical work. Horváth indicated to Blikk that any disputes should be directed to his legal counsel, signaling a breakdown in attempts at a peaceful resolution.
The couple, who met and “married” as part of the TV2 program, attempted a discreet end to their relationship, hoping to preserve a positive connection. However, the separation has unfolded with Rebeka Deák publicly detailing a dispute over songwriting credits and financial arrangements concerning songs created during their time together. The disagreement centers on the ownership and royalties of tracks, including “Big Wall,” which Deák asserts originated as her idea.
Deák told Blikk she has a signed agreement with Horváth outlining shares in their songs. She claims Horváth contributed to already partially completed work, and that he later disengaged from both the songwriting and production processes-including music videos-leaving her to complete the projects independently. “For both songs he was involved with, he dropped out after the first round: I did the filming all by myself, and he didn’t deal with the songs or the music videos any further,” Deák stated.
She further explained that her ongoing work with Magneoton, a Hungarian record label, required clarity regarding song ownership percentages, prompting a formalization of the agreements with Horváth. Deák’s comments suggest she believes Horváth’s contributions do not warrant equal ownership, given his limited involvement in the completion of the songs.
