Cataño‘s Annual Fair Set to Showcase Over 200 Puerto Rican Artisans This Weekend

Cataño, Puerto Rico – The annual Feria de Cataño kicks off this weekend, promising a vibrant celebration of Puerto‍ Rican culture ​and craftsmanship with the⁤ participation of more than 200 local artisans. The event,‍ a cornerstone of the town’s cultural​ calendar, ‌will transform Cataño’s waterfront ⁢into a bustling marketplace and entertainment hub.

The Feria de Cataño is a significant economic driver for the municipality and a beloved tradition for families ‌across⁢ the island.This ​year’s⁤ event prioritizes both cultural enrichment and visitor convenience,with‍ expanded parking options ​and extended boat service between⁣ San Juan​ and Cataño. The fair aims to provide a safe⁢ and ⁣enjoyable experience‍ for all attendees, highlighting the best​ of Puerto Rican artistry⁣ and community spirit.

Organizers ​have designated several​ parking areas, ⁣including Parque Perucho Cepeda, the Cosme Beitía Coliseum, the area under the PR-5‌ highway bridge​ near⁣ perucho ‍Cepeda, the ⁤Luis osvaldo ‌Reyes Sports⁢ Coliseum, Cataño Market Square, and ⁤the edwin Rivera Sierra Public Parking Lot (Puntilla Parking Lot). A dedicated ​parking⁤ area, Matienzo Cintrón, will be reserved exclusively for individuals with disabilities.

To facilitate access for ​visitors from San Juan,‌ the boat service will operate on a special schedule. On Saturday, the last⁣ boat will depart ‌at 1:00 a.m., and on ‌Sunday, service⁢ will conclude at 12:00 a.m., ⁣with ticket sales ⁤ending one hour prior on ‍both days.

“The Fair in ​Cataño demonstrates what we can achieve ‍when we combine tradition, security and a real ⁢commitment to our ⁣families,” ⁢stated Cataño⁣ Mayor Julio Alicea ‍vasallo. “Every detail, from the musical and craft offering to the ⁣logistics of ⁢parking and ⁢surveillance, has been planned so that visitors can enjoy our Maritime front with peace⁤ of⁤ mind‌ and pride.”
