Tom Felton Seeks Advice from Daniel Radcliffe as He Returns to ‘Harry Potter’ Universe on Broadway
NEW YORK – Tom Felton is once again embodying his iconic role as Draco Malfoy, this time on the Broadway stage in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” having debuted last month. Ahead of his return,Felton turned to former co-star Daniel Radcliffe for guidance on navigating the world of Broadway,noting Radcliffe’s recent Tony Award win for ”Merrily We Roll Along.”
The reunion highlights the enduring connection between the “Harry Potter” cast and their continued careers in the entertainment industry. While Felton embraces revisiting the character that launched him to fame, Radcliffe has expressed contentment with moving beyond his role as the Boy Who Lived, though he remains open to possibilities.
“I’ve taken a few tips from Potter,” felton joked during a november 5 appearance on “Good Morning America.” “He was one of the early inspirations for me to come to broadway. I think I saw him during his first show 10-plus years ago and now he’s a Tony winner and a big inspiration for why Broadway is so special.”
Radcliffe, now 36, told The New York Times in 2022, “I’m getting to a point where I feel like I made it out of Potter OK, and I’m really happy with where I am now, and to go back woudl be such a massive change to my life.” He added, “It’s not something I’m really interested in doing right now,” though he didn’t rule it out entirely, stating, “I’d never say never.”
Recently, radcliffe discussed fatherhood and the upcoming “Harry Potter” TV series with Access Hollywood, but did not express interest in participating in the new project.
