E-Bike Rider Dies, Pedestrians Injured in North Manchester Crash
BLACKLEY, MANCHESTER – A male e-bike rider died and two pedestrians sustained serious injuries following a collision on Rochdale Road in North Manchester Tuesday evening, December 2. Police have closed multiple roads as they investigate the incident.
The crash occurred on Rochdale road in Blackley, prompting a significant emergency response. The e-bike rider was pronounced dead at the scene, while the two pedestrians were transported to hospital for treatment. Authorities are urging the public to avoid the area due to extensive road closures.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed closures are in effect on Rochdale Road, Whitemoss Road, and Lionbrow Road.
“Officers are dealing with a serious RTC on Rochdale Road in north Manchester between a e-bike rider and two pedestrians,” a GMP spokesperson stated. “The male e-bike rider has sadly been pronounced dead at the scene, and the two pedestrians have been taken to hospital with serious injuries.”
The closures are expected to remain in place while investigators gather evidence. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes.
