Patriots‘ Milton Williams Targeting Week 17 Return from Ankle Injury

Foxborough, MA – ‍New England Patriots defensive tackle‌ Milton Williams is expected to miss at least four games due to a high-ankle sprain sustained in Week 11, but⁣ a return before the playoffs appears likely. The Patriots ⁣placed Williams on injured reserve following the injury, sidelining a key contributor to their defensive line.

Williams’ absence is a significant blow to the ⁢Patriots’ defense, and the team is carefully monitoring his recovery. While a ⁣high-ankle sprain can require up to six weeks of healing, the⁢ team’s⁢ Week 14 bye provides a strategic window for his rehabilitation.

Currently, williams will have missed two games following ⁢the conclusion of the Week 13 matchup against‌ the New York Giants. Factoring in the ⁢bye week, the earliest possible return for the⁢ defensive tackle is Week 17 against the New York Jets. However, his ⁤return could extend to Week 18 depending on the severity and progress of his recovery.

The Patriots’ primary goal is to‍ have Williams ⁣fully healthy for the⁣ playoffs. Based on the current timeline, he is projected ‌to be available for the start of the postseason, whether that be in the Wild Card or Divisional Round, contingent on New England’s final seeding.
