Poland Issues Travel Warning for Venezuela Amidst U.S. Intervention Rhetoric
Warsaw – The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a high-level travel warning, advising against all travel to venezuela, and urging Polish citizens currently in the country to register with the Odyseusz system. The alert, disseminated via text message to users of Polish mobile operator SIM cards in Venezuela, comes as tensions escalate between the U.S. and Venezuela over potential military intervention.
the warning reflects growing international concern following recent statements by U.S. President Donald Trump suggesting a possible military operation in Venezuela. During a Thanksgiving phone call with troops, Trump indicated a potential strike could begin soon, referencing efforts to disrupt Venezuelan drug trafficking.”In recent weeks, you have been working to deter Venezuelan drug traffickers, of which there are many,” trump said. “Of course, there aren’t that many coming by sea anymore…soon we’ll start keeping them on land too.”
On Saturday,Trump further heightened tensions with a social media post declaring that “the airspace over Venezuela should be treated as closed.” the Venezuelan government swiftly condemned the statement, labeling it a “colonial threat” to the country’s sovereignty.
The RCB alert – a designation for critical travel advisories – underscores the polish government’s assessment of the heightened risk to citizens in Venezuela. Polish nationals in Venezuela are strongly encouraged to register with the Odyseusz system to facilitate potential consular assistance.
