This latest SoundCloud update follows the 2023 release of Music From the Merch Desk (2016 – 2023), a collection of limited-edition singles originally sold during his live performances. He also oversaw expanded editions of both 1994’s landmark ambient work, Selected Ambient Works Volume II, and 1993’s Surfing on Sine Waves, the latter released under his Polygon Window alias.
Last year also saw Aphex Twin’s single “Blackbox life Recorder 21f” recognized as one of the best songs of the year, landing at No. 51 on Pitchfork’s “the 100 Best songs of 2023” list. the artist’s activity has sparked considerable interest,particularly following online speculation surrounding a potentially elaborate,and possibly fabricated,archive of unreleased material.
