Delhi: 17-Year-Old Shot Dead at Wedding Ceremony by CISF Constable
A 17-year-old,identified as Sahil,was allegedly shot dead by a Central industrial Security Force (CISF) head constable on Saturday evening after reportedly trespassing at a wedding ceremony in Delhi’s Shahdara district. The incident occured at a Community center in the MS Park, DDA market.
According to reports,sahil,a local slum-dweller,went to the wedding seeking food. A confrontation ensued between the boy and the constable, leading the latter to allegedly fire a pistol at Sahil.
The victim was rushed to Hedgewar hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.
“The boy lived in a local slum. Seeing that a wedding ceremony was going on,he came to eat at the ceremony. As the constable saw a trespasser trying to enter, he tried to prevent him and later fired at him,” a local inhabitant told India Today.
Police promptly arrived at the scene and arrested the accused constable, who is posted in Uttar Pradesh. A pistol has been recovered.
“It has come to light that a 17-year-old boy was shot dead. We have heard the boy had a fallout with some of the people present at the wedding ceremony. We are probing into all the angles,” a police officer stated.
The shooting sparked protests in the area. Authorities are continuing their investigation and legal proceedings.
