Merseyside Police Recover Firearm, Electric Bike After Huyton Shooting

Liverpool‌ Pub​ Car Park​ Cordoned Off ‍Following Leg Shooting

A pub car park in Liverpool has been cordoned off as police investigate a shooting that ‍left‌ a man hospitalized with‍ leg injuries. The incident occurred overnight,‌ with a meaningful police presence‍ established this morning.

Police were called to Radway Road, where an extensive cordon was erected ⁢around a section of the road ‍and​ the adjacent pub car park. Forensic specialists were seen entering⁤ the pub around 9:30 a.m., and ‌three⁢ police vehicles remained at the scene. Medical ‌equipment ⁣and a blue tarpaulin were observed near‍ the front gate of a ‌property within the⁤ cordon.

Initial reports‍ suggest the‍ shooting involved two gunmen. ‍While no arrests have been made, Merseyside Police ​have launched an examination and are appealing ‌for facts.

“We are still‍ in the very⁢ early ⁤stages of an investigation and are steadfast to find⁣ the offenders​ responsible,” stated Detective⁢ Chief ⁢Inspector ⁢Phil Atkinson. ‌”A young man is currently​ in hospital with several‍ injuries ⁤to ‌his leg following a violent ⁢incident ‍in our community thus I want to reassure residents living in ⁢the‌ area,that we ‍are taking this incident extremely seriously and are relentless in our pursuit of those involved in ‍gun crime.”

Police ⁢are specifically requesting CCTV or⁢ dashcam ‍footage from⁢ anyone who may have⁢ been ​in⁢ the area. One local resident, speaking to⁤ the Liverpool Echo, ⁤expressed ⁣dismay, stating, “It doesn’t surprise you anymore, does it? These‍ kids are running around with guns and knives all⁢ the time. The area knows what⁣ happens with these‍ idiots.What about⁢ little Olivia up the road?” – a⁤ reference to the tragic shooting of Olivia Pratt-Korbel in ⁢2022.

Radway Road ⁤showed no⁤ police activity shortly after 7:00 a.m., but the cordon was in ​place by shortly after.Anyone with information is ‍urged to contact Merseyside​ police.
