Car⁢ Break-Ins Plague Thanksgiving Holiday at ⁣Great Wolf Lodge in Manteca

MANTECA,Calif.⁣ – Nearly 50‌ vehicles were broken into at the Great Wolf⁢ Lodge in Manteca, California, ⁢over the ⁤Thanksgiving holiday, prompting a police investigation and ⁢raising concerns about security ‍at the popular family resort. The Manteca Police Department responded to reports of shattered windows and stolen‍ belongings beginning Thursday, November ‌23rd.

The surge in vehicle burglaries casts a shadow over what should have been a festive holiday for families visiting the resort. While Great wolf‌ Lodge employs on-site security and utilizes a ticketed parking system, it ⁤remains uncertain whether guards were actively patrolling the lot during the time of⁢ the incidents. The ‌break-ins underscore the vulnerability of vehicles⁣ left unattended in public ⁢parking areas, notably during peak travel ⁣times when they may contain gifts and other‍ valuables.

According to authorities, detectives are awaiting surveillance footage ⁤from the lodge, ‍which management says is⁤ currently being compiled. The San Francisco⁣ Chronicle reported that the ⁤extent of losses is still being assessed ‍by victims, but initial reports indicate a wide⁢ range of items were ‌stolen.

“Sadly, especially around the holidays, when ‌people are expecting that there will be presents and other ‍valuables in ⁤vehicles, it is⁣ always best not to leave items in your⁤ vehicle that can be taken,” stated Sergeant Steven Beermann ⁤of⁤ the Manteca police Department in⁢ a statement ⁤to KCRA 3.

Both‍ Great ⁤Wolf Lodge and the Manteca Police Department were contacted for ‍comment but did not respond in time for publication. The investigation is ongoing.
