Celebrity Race Across The World thrown into chaos as BBC ordered to stop filming

‘Celebrity Race Across⁢ The World’ Filming halted Mid-Race Following BBC Order

Filming of⁤ the ⁤BBC’s Celebrity Race Across The World has been temporarily suspended after the broadcaster ⁣was reportedly ordered to stop production.The disruption occurred during the current series, which sees ‌celebrities ‍navigate a 5,900km route through Central America, from Isla Mujeres,⁢ Mexico, to Península de ​La Guajira, Colombia.

The halt to filming ​throws the competition into chaos for the participating celebrity ‌teams,including Roman Kemp and his sister Harleymoon. ⁤The BBC ​confirmed the‍ pause but has not yet disclosed the reason‍ for the sudden stop order. ​Contestants have been stripped of lavish transport, smartphones, and bank ‍cards, ​relying instead⁣ on limited budgets and local transport.

The current series,⁣ described by the BBC as‌ taking the race through “one of ⁢the most diverse and visually stunning ⁢routes yet,” began with teams racing from⁢ the Caribbean island of Isla Mujeres. The broadcaster previously stated‍ the journey ⁣would test relationships as⁣ participants “discover‌ the world, and themselves, in ways they never expected.”

“Our familiar faces will say ​goodbye to lavish transport, smartphones and bank ⁣cards and​ instead must rely on limited ‌budgets, local transport ​and their own resourcefulness, as well as the kindness​ of strangers,” the⁣ BBC added.

Celebrity race Across The World airs Thursdays at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
