‘Stranger Things’ Season 5 Episode 4 Reveals Will‘s Connection to Vecna, Shifts Power Dynamic
Hawkins, Indiana – The fourth episode of Stranger Things Season 5 dramatically alters the landscape of the battle against Vecna, as will Byers unexpectedly accesses and wields Vecna’s own power. The progress, revealed at the episode’s conclusion, positions Will and Eleven as a formidable duo capable of challenging the villain on a more even playing field.
This revelation arrives amidst ongoing investigations into the origins of Eleven’s powers and the secrets surrounding Dr. Brenner’s experiments. Earlier in the season, Eleven believed a secure military facility held “Kryptonite” – a substance that could neutralize her abilities – and suspected Vecna was behind its concealment. Though, infiltrating the base revealed Kali, also known as Eight, a fellow test subject with the power of illusion, was being held there rather. The military’s intentions regarding Kali remain unknown.
The shift in Will’s abilities, as described by actor Noah Matarazzo, ”changes the game” for the Hawkins crew. Finn Wolfhard added that the situation effectively creates “two Elevens,” offering a notable boost in power against Vecna. Matarazzo further characterized the prospect of two super-powered friends as “so badass.”
