Korean Badminton Teams Unite in Miryang for Intensive Joint Training
Miryang, South Korea – The Korea Badminton Association (KBA) has launched a week-long joint training camp in Miryang, Gyeongsangnam-do, from February 24th to 30th, bringing together the national team’s standing forces and its future national team players. The intensive program is designed to bridge skill gaps and build a enduring pipeline of talent for international competition.
The training will centre on tactical and technical improvements, individualized skill upgrades, and practical sparring sessions. According to the KBA, the camp aims to “create meaningful results in the mid- to long-term development of Korean badminton,” including facilitating a smooth transition of players between the teams and identifying promising new talent.
This joint training builds on recent international experiences for both squads. The future national team recently competed in the ”2025 BAT YONEX Pathumthani Thailand Junior Badminton Championships,” gaining valuable practical experience. Simultaneously, the national standing team underwent international exchange training at the National Badminton Centre in Milton Keynes, UK, focusing on adapting to European playing styles and enhancing tactical responsiveness.
The Miryang camp will utilize a high-intensity, combat-focused approach, incorporating tailored technical programs, individualized physical conditioning, and immediate feedback mechanisms.The KBA anticipates the training will refine players’ technical skills and improve their focus during competition.
“Through this joint training, we plan to lay the foundation for a natural power generation change between the national team’s standing army and the future national team, discovering and nurturing promising players, strengthening international competitiveness, and expanding international competitiveness,” a KBA spokesperson stated.
