DOHA, Qatar – The Qatar Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced a new academic calendar for the 2025-2026 school year alongside the implementation of flexible working hours for educators, effective November 27, 2025.The reforms aim to optimize the learning habitat and enhance work-life balance for teaching staff.
The updated calendar and work arrangements impact all public schools within Qatar,affecting approximately 300,000 students and over 20,000 teachers. This initiative responds to ongoing evaluations of the national education system and seeks to align Qatar’s academic standards with international best practices. The Ministry stated the changes are designed to improve student outcomes and attract and retain qualified educators. Details regarding specific exam dates are now available on the Ministry’s official website,allowing schools and families to plan accordingly.The flexible working hours policy will be implemented in phases, beginning with a pilot programme in select schools before a nationwide rollout.
