HOUSTON – A tornado touched down in a residential area outside Houston, Texas, damaging over 100 homes on Monday, authorities said. No injuries were reported.
The damage occurred in the Memorial Northwest neighborhood, according to Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman’s office. Photos and drone video posted to Facebook by the constable’s office showed roofs with shingles ripped off and debris blocking roads.
the Houston Fire Department dispatched a five-member saw team to remove toppled trees, spokesperson Rustin Rawlings said.
The National Weather service issued a tornado watch for southeastern texas, including Houston, until 1 a.m. Tuesday, and a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of the region.
