Nintendo Switch Online Adds Four Classic Games to Retro Library
REDMOND, WA – November 8, 2023 – Nintendo has expanded its library of classic games available through its Switch Online subscription service, adding four new titles from the NES and Game Boy eras. The update, released today, brings beloved titles to a new generation of players and adds value to the ongoing service.
The latest additions include Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos and battletoads for the NES, alongside Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters and Bionic Commando for the Game Boy. These games join a growing catalog of retro titles accessible to Switch Online subscribers,offering a nostalgic experience for veteran gamers and a chance for newer audiences to discover gaming history.
This update follows the October addition of Luigi’s Mansion for the GameCube,available through the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. Access to the newly added NES and Game Boy titles requires a standard Switch Online membership. The same four titles were simultaneously released for the Nintendo Classics service in Japan.
