Aspiring Singer, 22, Fatally Shot in Northridge Ambush
NORTHRIDGE, LOS ANGELES (KABC) - Maria De La Rosa, a 22-year-old woman pursuing a career in music, was killed Saturday afternoon in a shooting authorities are investigating as an ambush. The incident occurred in the area of Bryant Street east of Tampa Avenue,according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The shooting has shaken the Northridge community and prompted a homicide investigation. De La Rosa was inside a parked vehicle with two other individuals when two male suspects approached and opened fire, inflicting multiple gunshot wounds. While the motives remain unknown and no suspects are in custody, the brazen attack underscores rising concerns about gun violence in the San Fernando Valley.
de La Rosa was rushed to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The two other occupants of the car sustained injuries, and their current conditions have not been released.
