Veteran Puerto Rican Journalist albert Cruz Retires After Decades-Long Career
San Juan, Puerto Rico – Albert Cruz, a prominent figure in Puerto Rican journalism, has announced his retirement after more than 30 years with ‘NotiCentro‘ and additional years at the now-defunct San Juan Star. The announcement was made by colleague and “There is the truth” program host, Valentino.
Cruz is recognized for his contributions to sports journalism and was recently inducted into the Guaynabo Sports Hall of Fame,receiving the Rafael Bracero award for his outstanding work.
Valentino credited Cruz with helping launch his own career at Wapa Televisión, stating Cruz encouraged him to apply for a position there. The two also collaborated on NotiUno 630 AM, where Cruz provided sports updates.
Valentino described Cruz as “a good professional and best friend,” and noted Cruz’s grandson is a promising athlete currently participating with the Puerto Rico Under-17 national team.
