Metal Church Announces Revamped Lineup Featuring Megadeth, Vicious Rumors, and Alice Cooper Alums
Metal Church has unveiled a notable lineup change, bringing together founding guitarist Kurdt Vanderhoof with a powerhouse of metal veterans. The new iteration of the band includes guitarist Rick Van Zandt, former Megadeth bassist David Ellefson, drummer Ken Mary (known for his work with Alice Cooper and Flotsam And Jetsam), and Brian Allen, vocalist for Vicious Rumors.
After nearly five decades, the reformation of Metal Church with this new ensemble represents a revitalization for the band, promising fresh music and extensive touring. Vanderhoof expressed surprise and gratitude, stating, “After 45 years, the fact that we have new music coming in 2026 feels like a miracle. There was a time when I honestly didn’t think Metal church woudl continue, but we’re back – and this lineup is firing on all cylinders.”
The band is currently streaming their first single, “F.A.F.O.,” produced by Vanderhoof and mixed/mastered by Chris “Zeuss“ harris at planet Z. The single’s recording sessions have expanded into a full-length album, slated for release in 2026 through Rat Pak Records.
“I can’t tell you how excited I am to have a new single on the way; that alone makes this moment incredibly special,” Vanderhoof added. “‘F.A.F.O.’ is an aggressive thrasher, and I think the fans are really going to dig it.We certainly do – otherwise it wouldn’t be Metal Church.”
