Turbo Band Collaborates with KISS Guitarist on New Single, Announces Upcoming Album
Prague, Czech Republic – Czech rock group Turbo has released a new single featuring contributions from Tommy Thayer, lead guitarist of the iconic American band KISS. The song, available in both English and Czech versions titled “Vidím tu lásky svý stat,” honors the legacy of Richard Kybic, Turbo’s original singer. This collaboration marks a significant moment for the band and foreshadows a new album planned for release next year, coinciding with Turbo’s 45th anniversary.
the project originated from a request by Zuzana, the mother of thayer’s partner Vivien and ex-wife of Kybic, who approached Thayer about creating a tribute to the late singer. “She told me that she would be very happy if she could ask me to honor the memory of Richard, the original singer of the band, and if I would write a song for Turbo. I was very happy to agree,” thayer stated. The single includes both Thayer’s original English composition, ”Time of My Life,” and a new song, “Jediná žretná,” with Czech lyrics penned by Vladimír Kočandrle, based on music by Karel Mecner.
Current Turbo singer Radomil Zíka described the experience as surreal, stating, “It’s a pretty cool feeling when a message beeps and it says: Hi, this is Tommy Thayer from the band Kiss. I’m preparing a new song for you and Turbo.” Band members view the single as a career highlight and a promising sign of continued creative momentum.
