Time is of the Essence in New Roguelike Erosion
A father’s desperate search for his kidnapped daughter forms the core of Erosion, a newly revealed isometric action roguelike from developer Plot Twist. Unveiled during the recent Xbox Partner Preview, Erosion distinguishes itself with a unique time-based mechanic: each death ages the protagonist a decade, adding urgency to the quest.
Unlike traditional roguelikes that reset progress upon failure, Erosion borrows a concept from the game Sifu, where death carries a meaningful consequence. Players must skillfully navigate a monster-filled world, mastering a variety of weapons and abilities, to rescue their daughter before time runs out. The game’s destructible voxel art style further enhances the immersive experience.
Erosion is slated for release on PC and consoles in spring 2026.
