Berlin Launches Quantum Hackathon to Drive Industry Innovation
Berlin,Germany - A new initiative aims to accelerate the practical submission of quantum computing, with the launch of the Berlin Quantum Hackathon 2026. Funded by the senate Department for Economics, Energy, adn Public Enterprises (SenWEB) and organized by Kipu Quantum in cooperation with Berlin Quantum, the hackathon will challenge teams to develop quantum solutions for real-world problems posed by Berlin-based organizations.
The six-week event will provide participants with hands-on access to the Kipu Quantum Hub, featuring quantum algorithms and hardware from leading companies like IBM and IQM. This initiative directly supports the Berlin Quantum Senate Vision, a strategy to establish Berlin as a globally recognized center for quantum technologies by fostering research, industry collaboration, and technology transfer. Top-performing teams will compete for prizes including up to €9,000 in quantum hardware access and an all-expenses-paid trip to Berlin for the final event in Spring 2026.
The Berlin Quantum Hackathon seeks to bridge the gap between theoretical quantum research and tangible industrial applications. Six teams will tackle challenges submitted by local businesses, gaining practical experience and raising awareness of quantum computing’s potential. Mentorship will be provided by Kipu’s experts and Berlin’s broader quantum community.
Kipu Quantum, a company with 11-50 employees specializing in Technology, Information and Internet, is organizing the hackathon. Interested parties can find more information and apply at www.berlinquantumhackathon.com.
