Karin Skeen Named Associate Chief Nursing Officer at UVA Health University Medical Center
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – UVA Health University Medical Center has appointed Karin Skeen, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, as Associate Chief Nursing officer, a key leadership position overseeing nursing research and evidence-based practice.The announcement signals UVA Health’s continued commitment to clinical excellence and innovation in patient care.
Skeen provides operational oversight for the department of nursing research and evidence-based practice,and collaborates with nursing teams to enhance clinical excellence in areas including education,quality,and safety. She brings over a decade of administrative experience within UVA Health Children’s, where she consistently delivered extraordinary results and contributed to the hospital’s recognition as the #1 children’s hospital in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Prior to her current role, Skeen served as an inpatient director for UVA Health’s Children’s Hospital and women’s services. She is a graduate of both the University of Virginia and Vanderbilt University’s School of Nursing.
