Salzburg/Wals, Austria – November 21, 2024 - dm drogerie markt Austria is opting out of Black Friday’s discount frenzy for the eighth consecutive year, instead promoting conscious consumption and social duty with its “Giving Friday” initiative on November 28th.
Rather than offering temporary sales,dm maintains consistently low prices year-round. On Giving Friday, the company will donate five percent of its daily income across all Austrian stores, the dm.at online shop, and the Mein dm app to initiatives supporting civic engagement.
“This means customers can expect fair prices all year round. dm consciously keeps its distance from artificial discount battles,” said Managing director Harald Bauer.
According to dm, customer surveys indicate a growing preference for conscious shopping over bargain hunting.
“We want to make a difference together with our customers. Giving Friday stands for conscious shopping and social interaction,” emphasized Christian Freischlager, a member of the management team. “On Giving Friday, people can not only shop at dm in a relaxed manner at the usual low prices, they are also doing something good – wholly automatically.”
As 2018, dm’s Giving Friday donations have exceeded €200,000 in the past two years.
