Puerto Rico Fails to Advance to Top 5 at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand
The hopes of Puerto Rico securing a historic win at the Miss Universe 2025 competition were dashed Saturday night as the island’s representative did not advance to the top 5 finalists during the event held in Thailand. This marks the end of a run for the title, despite puerto Rico’s eighth consecutive qualification in the history of the contest.
The 73rd edition of the pageant saw the crowning of a new Miss Universe, who received the Luz del Infinito tiara-or Lumière de l’Infini-first presented last year in Mexico. The judging panel included Miss Universe 2020,Andrea Meza,Venezuelan model and businesswoman Sharon Fonseca,Brazilian painter Romero Britto,Cuban journalist and writer Ismael Cala,Indian badminton player Saina Nehwal,Miss thailand 1998,Chalida Thaochalee,and Filipino singer Louie Heredia.
The competition featured 122 candidates vying for the coveted title.
