Samsung’s One UI⁣ 8.5 to Introduce ‘Nudges‘ – an AI-Powered Assistant Mode

Samsung is poised ⁢to considerably enhance the Galaxy ‌smartphone experience⁣ with‌ “Nudges,” a new assistance function built on its Galaxy AI‍ platform, recently ‌discovered in internal files by Android Authority. The feature, reminiscent of similar capabilities on Google Pixel‍ devices, aims to proactively streamline daily smartphone use by anticipating user⁤ needs and offering contextual suggestions.

This upgrade‌ arrives as Samsung continues to integrate artificial intelligence deeper into its ecosystem, seeking ‌to offer a more intuitive‍ and efficient‌ user experience. Nudges will impact millions of Galaxy⁢ users by learning individual usage patterns and‍ providing timely assistance, potentially ‍saving time and reducing digital friction. The full rollout is anticipated with the launch of ⁣the⁢ Galaxy S26 in early 2026, ⁤following a likely beta program later in 2025.

The core of Nudges lies⁤ in its ability to analyze ⁣how users interact with thier phones. One‍ UI 8.5 will⁤ proactively surface relevant information, such as previously captured screenshots or past⁢ conversations, when it detects ⁤a related situation. Beyond simple ‍recall, the system will also intelligently assist with common tasks like form filling, remembering previously entered data to expedite future entries.

Further enhancing usability, “Actions on the display” will leverage AI to recognize contextual cues within on-screen content. ⁢For ⁣example,if a ‌user receives⁢ an address via message,Nudges will instantly offer navigation ‍options through Google Maps.Similarly, encountering foreign text⁤ will prompt a translation suggestion. This functionality extends ‍beyond native apps,⁤ with the AI reportedly working within popular platforms like WhatsApp, Instagram, and ⁤Facebook.

The intelligence behind Nudges is powered‍ by the Gemini Nano AI model,‌ already integrated into ‌other Galaxy features.Samsung is‍ expected to launch a beta program for one UI 8.5 towards the end of 2025, with an⁢ official release coinciding with the‌ anticipated February or March 2026 debut of the Galaxy⁢ S26.
